SAP Concur Doubles Down on Keeping Travelers Safe with Expanded Concur Locate Capabilities, Including Uber for Business Partnership, TripLink Expansion, and New TripIt Pro Features

SAP Concur India |

Traveler safety is a growing concern, underscored by incidents like the shooting at a prominent Silicon Valley headquarters near my office. At the time, a faculty member with a U.S. research institution received a Concur Locate alert advising him to avoid traveling near the San Bruno campus.

The organization’s travel manager quickly contacted the faculty member to confirm his safety and share available resources. The faculty member was fortunate to be kept safe.

In this case, the organization’s travel risk management program worked exactly as intended. However, not all organizations and travelers are equally prepared.

According to new GBTA Foundation research, more than one-third of travel managers don’t know how long it would take to locate employees during a crisis.

How does SAP Concur help businesses monitor travel risks and locate employees during a crisis?

SAP Concur prioritizes traveler safety by helping organizations identify employees near an incident and communicate with them quickly. Concur Locate with Active Monitoring uses SAP Concur data to help businesses identify and locate employees who may be in the vicinity of an incident, then communicate to determine whether they need assistance.

Today, we’re pleased to announce updates to our traveler safety suite that reinforce SAP Concur’s position as the industry’s most comprehensive traveler safety solution provider.

**Concur Locate with Active Monitoring** uses SAP Concur data to help businesses quickly identify and locate employees who may be near an incident, and then communicate with them to determine if they need assistance.

What’s new in Concur Locate: expanded location data (including Uber for Business)

Concur Locate is expanding its employee location dataset by adding API support, including an integration with Uber for Business. This helps organizations more quickly identify where travelers are during an incident.

  • Expanded employee location dataset, including Uber for Business. Concur Locate is adding API support, enabling SAP Concur ecosystem partners such as Uber for Business to share information that can help identify traveler locations.
  • Uber for Business partnership. Uber for Business is one of the first partners to use this integration and make business traveler coordinates available to Concur Locate.
  • Why it matters during an incident. The ability to pinpoint employee locations can make businesses more effective in helping travelers stay safe.

TripLink helps businesses protect travelers by increasing visibility even when employees book outside corporate booking channels. This matters because out-of-channel bookings can reduce an organization’s ability to locate and support travelers during an incident.

It used to be that most business travel was booked through a corporate booking tool. However, the GBTA Foundation report found that 15 percent of air travel and 37 percent of hotels are booked outside corporate booking channels.

Without the ability to capture this information, businesses lose visibility, and their ability to ensure traveler safety is impacted. With TripLink, we help protect travelers by providing visibility even if they book outside corporate channels.

TripLink currently has 6.9 million registered users and supports 28 airlines, hotels, ground transportation providers, and more.

The **GBTA Foundation report** found **15 percent of air travel** and **37 percent of hotels** are booked outside corporate booking channels.

  • Two-way communication. Employees can receive and respond to Concur Locate security messages from within the app.
