Nearly 2,500,000 Travellers Now Using Concur and TripIt Mobile Apps

Mumbai, 12th March 2012 – Concur, the world’s leader in providing integrated travel and expense management solutions, with over 15,000 clients globally and hundreds of clients in India alone, has announced that close to one million travellers are now using Concur’s mobile application on their iPhone, Android, BlackBerry or iPad to book or amend air, rail, car travel, and hotel rooms or manage their expenses. Additionally, more than 1.5 million travellers are using TripIt® on their mobile devices to organize and share their trips.

The figures show that as global smartphone usage continues to rise – according to IDC the worldwide market increased 5.4 per cent year over year in the fourth quarter of 2011 – there is a growing appetite for apps like Concur and TripIt that can make the travel experience more seamless.

In India, users are increasingly embracing new technologies like smartphones, mobile broadband and tablets. Cheaper and more affordable tablets are ushering in a plethora of new users and while the tablet ecosystem is at a nascent stage, growing awareness and better technology is expected to increase the tablet usage in India by a whopping 107%* by 2017. These promising statistics give Concur a significant opportunity to expand its mobile application and TripIt user base in the Indian market in the next few years.

Christopher Juneau, Senior Director - Marketing, Concur Technologies: “The ability to book an entire business trip, from air and rail to hotel and car – plus manage the resulting expenses – is now at the fingertips of nearly a million Concur users globally. Additionally, more than 1.5 million travellers rely on TripIt’s mobile app to easily organize and share their travel plans from their smartphone.  As Concur continues to innovate across our mobile offerings, business travellers and their companies are enjoying access to more and more services that enable them to save time and reduce costs.”

Concur’s mobile app gives travellers the freedom and flexibility they need while ensuring that all travel transactions are booked in compliance with the company’s travel program. It can capture and record expenses while on the road – including receipt images – designate and track attendees, approve and submit expense reports and seamlessly integrate with other mobile applications to help make the process of business travel even easier.
